Letter E and Elephants

We made some elephants out of the letter E as that is our letter of the week! We also did some sorting projects today.

First, Mrs. Sapp sorted small, colored bears (counters) on the rug as a group. She started by asking the kids if the bears were all alike. Most said yes. So we prodded some more. Then helped them by asking what color were the bears. They began to understand. Mrs. Sapp had some different colored sorting circles so she put those out and asked, what might go inside the red circle? The kids responded with "the red bears"! Right on! We went through the other colored bears in the same manner. They had 100%.

So, after that group lesson, we went to the table to work on the sorting independently. We did pretty well there, too. The kids had four rectangles on their paper and they were asked to sort four different color pieces of cardstock.

What a great day with our smart kids!
