A Nice Friday

Friday was fun. Sometimes it's so quiet around SJEEC on Fridays. We like it that way on some days. We shared several "runaway" turkey's. You will note we are posting them on the bulletin board outside our room. We thank you parents cuz we know this project requires assistance on your part but they are LOVING it. They are so excited to see what everyone disguises their turkey as and they want to take them home for the holiday. No worries, we will send them home with them.

We celebrated the letter E by making it from blocks and stackers. We first gave the kids a "template" and they built upon that. Then, they took the template away and began to build their own capital E. Everyone did so well with this project ... and they enjoyed it, too.

To pretend we were like Eric Carle, we made our own flowers like in The Tiny Seed with the paper we painted earlier in the week. These turned out super nice and we sent them home on Friday. They enjoyed pulling everything together.

To finish off the week, we read more books by Mr. Carle: The Tiny Seed and Have You Seen My Cat? Both are really entertaining books. Whatsmore, many kiddos indicated they have these books at home or have read them before. Thanks for that mom and dad!

Hope your weekend is great.
